The 2018 AFC Championship Game was the conference championship to determine the American Football Conference (AFC) champion for the 2017 NFL season. The number-three seeded Jacksonville Jaguars took on the number-one seeded New England Patriots to determine the team to represent the AFC in Super Bowl LII. The game took place at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts on January 21, 2018. The New England Patriots were playing in their seventh consecutive conference championship (they had made it to this round every season since 2012, while the Jacksonville Jaguars were playing in only their second conference championship and first since 2000; the team was seeking to win its first conference championship in franchise history. The Patriots defeated the Jaguars by a score of 20–24, to advance to Super Bowl LII, where they lost to the Philadelphia Eagles.
